Meet the Herbalist

Checking out the Witch Hazel flowers in late December 2021.

Andrea Watters

I am an herbalist, grandmother and Wise Woman traveling through her third Saturn Return while living in sync with the cycles of the moon and the Earth’s natural rhythms.

I walk the labyrinth regularly and chart my experiences during the phases of the moon to cultivate sacred space in my life and garden. As I deepen my connection with nature and our plant allies, I find balance and joy and want to share that with you.

If you’re a busy working woman in your second Saturn Return (ages 27-54) and want more out of life or just want to learn to manage stress or anxiety, sleep better or discover your own work/life balance, I am here to guide you.

As an herbalist, I can help you reconnect with nature and plants through regular herbal consultations both online and in person in Great Mills, Maryland. My approach includes herbal medicine and lifestyle recommendations along with holistic practices such as gratitude journaling, moon magic and walking meditations in my contemporary labyrinth.

If you’re looking for natural alternatives, reliable information, long-term solutions or just want to learn more about plant medicine, then you may find an herbal consultation beneficial.

My Passion

Spending time in my herb garden grounds me and keeps me aligned to my true north. I am motivated by the recurring refrain that “we’ve got to get ourselves back to the garden.”

I’ve had an affinity for plants and growing things as a child, but it wasn’t until I moved to the Yellow Farmhouse on Mulberry Fields that I found a place to nurture my passion for growing herbs and spending time in nature.

Today, spending time in my garden and walking the Chartres Labyrinth helps keep me aligned to what’s important in life. As my practice evolves, I plan to share my sacred space through garden talks, labyrinth walks and herbal medicine workshops.

I hope you’ll meet me in the garden—I would love to hear your story.

My Background

In the late 1970s, I visited Smile Herb Shop in College Park, Maryland, where I was introduced to Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) and its wound healing properties. Since then, yarrow and several other plant allies have followed me as I moved from house to house and shared their wisdom with me. Now, I want to share their magic with you.

My formal study of herbal medicine began in 2013 with a second-career goal of merging my passion for plants, gardening and herbal medicine as a clinical herbalist. In August 2020, I completed my Master of Science degree in Herbal Medicine from Maryland University of Integrative Health.

Since retiring from the federal government in 2022, I have embarked on my herbal journey full time. Want to learn more?  The journey back to the garden starts with a free discovery call or book an appointment now.
